Since 2019 is just a few short months away, it’s time to focus on your marketing strategy for next year! As you begin to outline your goals and research some of the best ways to accomplish them, don’t forget about the importance of video marketing! According to Forbes, 2019 is the year of video as “global consumer Internet video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic (Source: SmallBizTrends).”

As you begin to ponder the different possibilities of how to utilize video marketing in the new year, here are three different approaches to consider!

1. Events

Most businesses are involved with events throughout the year. If your company exhibits at trade shows, hosts customer events or holds live product demonstrations, you have a great opportunity to leverage the valuable content into shareable videos. Even though it’s inevitable that not everyone on your guest list will be able to attend your event, that doesn’t mean you can’t show them what they missed out on! Whether you hire a crew to film an entire event and compile a post-event highlight reel, or you want to incorporate a live stream feed from an event onto your social media channels, there are various ways in which you can allow outsiders to experience the key messages of an event without being physically present. According to HubSpot, “85% of people say they'd like to see more video from brands in 2018.” Since you’re already investing valuable time and money into your events, why not repurpose the content and serve the consumer demand for more video?

2. Talent Acquisition

In order to successfully grow and flourish, every company needs a strong foundation, and a strong foundation relies heavily on a talented and reliable workforce. In order to secure a quality workforce, strong recruitment and talent acquisition efforts are essential. To recruit the best, you have to show that your company is the best. And what better way to spread that message than through video? Job seekers don’t just want to hear that your company is the best, they want visualize the work environment and see if the culture is the right fit for them. By using video for recruitment, you can give job seekers an inside look at what their career might look like if they worked for you.

3. Social Media

Wondering how to take your social media strategy to the next level in 2019? If you’re not utilizing video on social, you’re missing out. The statistics speak for themselves. Forbes states that “social video generates 1200% more shares than text and images combined (Source: SmallBizTrends)” and “video posts on Facebook have 135% greater organic reach than photo posts (Source: Social Media Today).” It’s simply not enough to rely on photos and status posts any longer; if you want to receive more engagement and interactions, posting video content is key.

In an age where “content is king,” there’s an ever-growing demand for engaging, exciting and relevant video content. Video marketing has become a way of the digital era, and the web proves it.  Whether you login to a social media app like Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook, or enter the home page of a website, you’re almost sure to be greeted with some kind of video, highlight reel or live stream. Because video has become a key part of content marketing, many companies have identified the importance of incorporating video marketing into their growth strategy.

When OneLogin, a San Francisco-based leader in unified access management, realized the need to increase talent acquisition efforts, its team searched for the best way to recruit new employees and share their corporate message. They soon realized that utilizing video marketing could be a great way to meet their goals because it would allow them to reach a bigger audience, drive more engagement and increase social awareness of their business and attract interest in their job openings. After OneLogin decided to leverage video for its recruiting strategy, they chose to direct their video marketing efforts and to make their vision come to life.

At, we strongly believe in the power of storytelling and knew OneLogin had an exciting one to tell. As we worked with OneLogin to prepare for the video shoot, our direction was clear; we needed to use video to show the uniqueness of the company, scale their brand and humanize their business.

In order to craft the perfect video, we focused on three key steps:

  • Develop the Why – Each and every business has a purpose, core competency or something that makes them unique. We worked with OneLogin to identify what they were most proud of and what made them a great place to work. For OneLogin, their “why” was teamwork and this why became a key emphasis of the video shoot.
  • Craft the Narrative – Once the “why” was identified, our team worked to develop a narrative that expressed how OneLogin’s teamwork goes above and beyond and how their workplace has benefitted from a positive culture.
  • Be Authentic – Since we were shooting a recruitment video, we knew it was especially important to get footage of real employees sharing testimonials about OneLogin because they know the company best and experience the workplace every day.

After we identified the direction of the video and managed the planning, prep, logistics, and scheduling, we set out to San Francisco for an action packed two-day video shoot. After 14 employee interviews, a company party on a harbor cruise and hours of footage later, we were able to highlight the positive and lively culture that OneLogin has created for its employees, and craft a video that will share their message with job seekers all over the world.
